Science Organisations
One of the most important features of the Bonn Region is that it homes the most influential German science organizations, which fund and promote science and research nationally. These are, for example, the German Research Foundation (DFG), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung/Foundation, the German Rector’s Conference (HRK), the Leibniz Association, the Helmholtz Association of National Research Centres, the Bund-Länder Commission for Educational Planning and Research Promotion and many more.
The institutions mentioned above as well as further national and international science organizations are located either in or in the close vicinity of the Wissenschaftszentrum Bonn, which is funded by the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft. Moreover, the Wissenschaftszentrum Bonn is very well equipped to host year by year over 800 scientifically motivated conferences and symposia and is famous for its excellent and highly frequented facilities.
